On behalf of the McNear Parent Teacher Association (PTA), welcome to the start of the 2024-2025 school year! If you are new to McNear Elementary, we are thrilled you are here. If you are a returning family, I know you are as excited as I am that the kids are back in this awesome community. What incredible energy we have already enjoyed on campus!
I look forward to working with families, the administration, our teachers and invaluable staff to provide an excellent learning experience for our children. This is my 4th year on the PTA board and my 6th as a parent at McNear. In the past, I served as the Classroom Support Manager or TSF. That job was an incredible opportunity for me to get to know everyone at McNear Elementary and prepared me for undertaking my new role as PTA President. Alongside an incredible Board, which includes a mix of new and returning members, we are super committed to strengthening our community, funding educational programs, and making this the best school year yet!
The McNear PTA works collaboratively to support our school through a variety of events like Move-A-Thon and the WISH Benefit, fundraising efforts such as the Family Giving Campaign and monthly Dine and Donates, and numerous volunteer opportunities. We would love for you to show your support by participating in the activities planned throughout the year. Your participation might be that of a committee member, volunteer, or as an attendee. Whatever level of participation you choose, your time and involvement is appreciated. We are all parents trying to give our children the best educational and social experience possible. This could not happen without the donation of time and resources from our Falcon families.
In addition to our PTA events, we invite you to attend all or as many PTA meetings as you can. Our first meeting is Monday, September 9th from 6-7pm in the Mcnear MASC room. The theme for our kickoff meeting is “Understanding our PTA” and we hope you come to learn more about how we all can make our McNear Falcons SOAR! Childcare on campus can be provided upon request and meetings are also hosted on Zoom for anyone who cannot attend in-person.
Finally, last year we launched a new website, Membership Toolkit, the home for all things PTA! There you will find upcoming events, PTA newsletters, the Falcon store, and easy links to volunteer. (ParentSquare will remain the hub for communications from the school and your children’s teacher). Many of you have a profile already from signing up for events or registering your child for Performing Arts, but if not, scan the QR code below to get started!
