1. Introductions
2. Approve Minutes from 4/1/2024 Association meeting - Laura Whalen
a. Heather Brooks moves to approve the minutes, Kara Sherrill seconds.
b. Minutes are approved.
3. 2024/2025 Board Elections
a. Parliamentarian: Kara Sherrill
SECTION 1. Each officer or board member of this Association shall be a member of this Association.
SECTION 2. The officers of this Association shall be a president, executive vice president, two ( 2 ) vice president(s), recording secretary, corresponding secretary, treasurer, financial secretary, financial reviewer, historian, and parliamentarian. These officers shall be elected annually with the exception of the corresponding secretary and the parliamentarian, who shall be appointed by the president subject to the ratification of the executive board.
SECTION 4.
Nominations for office shall be made by a nominating committee which shall be elected by this Association.
The report of the nominating committee shall be submitted to the membership at least twenty-eight (28) days prior to the annual election meeting. At the annual election meeting, additional nominations must be called for from the floor.

SECTION 5.
The privilege of holding office shall be limited to members of this Association whose dues are paid and who have been members of the Association for at least thirty (30) days previous to nomination.
Individuals who are current members in any PTA or PTSA school in good standing must pay dues to this Association upon nomination to office in order to qualify as members at the time of election.
SECTION 6.
Only those persons who are eligible and who have signified their consent to serve if elected shall be nominated for or elected to office.
Nominees for the offices of president, treasurer, financial secretary, auditor, or any elected officer authorized to sign checks shall not be related by blood or marriage or reside in the same household.
SECTION 7. Election shall be held by ballot at the annual election meeting in April. If there is but one nominee for any office, the ballot for that office may be dispensed with and the election held by voice vote.
SECTION 8.
Officers shall serve for a term of one (1) year.
No officer shall be eligible to the same office for more than two (2) consecutive terms or hold more than one (1) elected or appointed office.
Officers shall assume their duties on July 1, 2024
No officer shall serve past the start of the next term unless elected to serve in that term. A person who has served in an office for more than six (6) months of a full term shall be deemed to have served a full term in such office.
SECTION 11. If an office remains unfilled after election, it shall be considered a vacant office to be filled by the board-elect.

Secretary - Josh Grove Parent to current McNear students in 1st Grade and 4th Grade, has been a PTA member for over 60 Days
Treasurer - Jean Nelson Parent current McNear students in Kindergarten, 3rd Grade and and 5th Grade, has been a PTA member for over 60 Days
VP of Fundraising - Lisa Scheppelmann Parent current McNear student in Kindergarten, has been a PTA member for over 60 Days
Historian - Liz Stanley Parent to a current McNear student in 4th Grade, has been a PTA member for over 60 Days.
Family Engagement Chair - Marina Butler Parent to current McNear students in 4th Grade and 6th Grade, has been a PTA member for over 60 Days.
Are there any further Nominees? Hearing none, the nominations are closed.
c. President: Lizzie Wallack
Conducts election of officers:
With one nominee for each board position, use a voice vote, saying:
“Bylaws state that if there is one nominee for an office, a ballot may be dispensed with and the election held by voice vote.”
“Any objection to this procedure?”…“Hearing none, the following are presented for election” and reads a list of positions and nominees.

The following unfilled roles shall be considered vacant offices to be filled by the board-elect.

4. McNear Scholarship for Petaluma High School for PEF
a. Jayden Gregorian is a scholarship winner.
b. McNear graduate, K-6th.
c. An English language learner, his mom suffered a stroke,School Board Representative, Youth Voice for losien so his mother is the breadwinner. He is a Youth Voice advocate for LGBQ rights.
d. Congratulations Jayden!
5. Next PTA meeting will be a picnic in the park.
a. June 3rd date
b. Potluck picnic in the park for families.
